For the past decade, the SEEP Network has leveraged its position as the key contact for regional and country-level microfinance networks to convene an annual Global Network Summit. Each year, representatives from networks around the world gather to share common challenges and share solutions, learn about the most current issues facing networks today, and strengthen their institutional capacity and service delivery through technical assistance workshops and lateral learning. To date, SEEP has provided technical assistance, capacity assessments, and lateral learning opportunities to over 30 networks, located throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe.

The 10th Annual 2008 SEEP Global Network Summit convened the largest gathering yet of country-level and regional-level microfinance networks since the launch of the Global Network Summit in 1999. 64 representatives from 43 networks operational in more than 92 countries around the world had the opportunity to share key information about this dynamic industry.

The 10th Global Network Summit was held in Washington, DC from November 4 – 7, 2008. To read more, click on the 2008 Global Network Summit Summary below. To view pictures from the 2008 Global Network Summit, please click here.
